Madhubani Loksabha Constituency (Bihar)

Madhu meaning honey and ban means forest, thus Mdhubani a forest of honey is at the Nepal border in the Northern part of Bihar approximately 30 Km from Darbhanga. It is famous for its mithila paintings. During the election it has always given a surprising results. The main language of Madhubani is Maithili and along with Maithili Hindi and Urdu are also among the main language spoken. past MP was Dr Shakeel Ahmed of Indian Niational Congress. He was also earler MLA from one of the assembly constituency of Madhubani called Bisfi. During 2004 election this seat was won by Indian National Congress having a pre election tie up with Rashtriya Janata Dal led by Mr. Laloo Prasad Yadav. He defeated his nearest rival Hukumdeo Narayan Yadav of Bhartiya Janata Party.
